Growl 1.2 for Lion →
onethingwell: A patched version of the popular “growl” notification system for Mac OS X, which compiles cleanly under XCode 4.1 and produces binaries for Mac OS 10.7 “Lion”. Worth a look if you prefer the old, pre-App Store Growl.

Automatic →
Automatic allows you to set up subscriptions for virtually any content linked in RSS feeds: podcasts, videocasts, torrentcasts… Rule of thumb: if it ends in ‘-cast’, you can get it with Automatic.

5 reasons why you should write apps for Nokia... →
Nokia still has lot of legacy baggage to drop and it remains to be seen if/how Stephan Elop manages to do that over next year or so to reinvent this global leader. If that does not happen, Nokia Microsoft strategy may not benefit much to over all developer ecosystem … Valid points… Good Writeup by Lalit Bhise.

Don't Call Yourself A Programmer →
Don’t call yourself a programmer: “Programmer” sounds like “anomalously high-cost peon who types some mumbo-jumbo into some other mumbo-jumbo.”  If you call yourself a programmer, someone isalready working on a way to get you fired. A wonderful read for everyone in the IT industry… Suddenly, the “murky waters” that we fight through looks perceivably clear!

Build software for you →
Don’t compromise your vision, don’t compromise your opinion. If you think 12px font looks best in an interface, don’t allow people to move it to 10px. If you could never picture yourself changing a setting to anything else but A, don’t even give the option to change it to B. Just don’t do it. Build software for you. There are many, many people out there just like...

How Dropbox will die! →
Avoiding a dramatic flameout is Job #1 for the young company. My bet is that five years from now, most users will think of Dropbox only in the context of “Whatever happened to?” Although I agree to the point that Dropbox is a “feature” and not a product, I’d like to see where they go with the battle with iCloud.

Tim Bray honors Dennis Ritchie →
It is impossible — absolutely impossible — to overstate the debt my profession owes to Dennis Ritchie. Every computer science student knows and owns the K&R book. The “R”, Dennis Ritchie, unfortunately passed away this weekend. (as posted by Marco Arment) Tim Bray puts it best!

You might have to cough up 600$ for the iPhone 4S →
If you’re an iPhone 4 owner thinking about upgrading, you have a tougher choice to make. Thanks to the two-year contract imposed by AT&T and Verizon, you’re not yet eligible to pay the $200 upgrade fee for a new phone, so you’d have to spend over $600 just to get the 4S. IMHO, THIS is what matters the most for a lot of people, Not how really amazing Siri is. Although,...

iOS 5 review →
iCloud is the glue that holds the new Apple experience together. It’s not too great a stretch to say that iOS 5 – along with OS X Lion – has welcomed in the next generation of Apple’s content ecosystem. Steve Jobs talked of Post-PC, and with its shifted focus from desktop to cloud, iOS 5 effectively downgrades your computer from essential to merely optional. A huge and detailed review of iOS5...
